Looks like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Prince Archie, might be following in his aunt Kate Middleton’s footsteps when it comes to their shared love for photography.

On November 15, the Duchess of Sussex attended a private screening of Netflix’s short film, The After. According to People, Markle, 42, participated in a Q & A session alongside The After star David Oyelowo and the film’s director, Misan Harriman

At one point in the discussion, the royal candidly shared that her 4-year-old son has been inspired by Harriman’s work behind a camera lens. (In case you didn’t know, Harriman is a talented photographer who snapped Harry and Markle’s maternity portrait released in March 2021.)

“The inspiration runs deep,” Markle said on the panel. “Misan was showing him how to do photography the last time he was with us, and I bought Archie a camera, and he said, ‘But it’s not a Leica like Misan.’”

“I said, ‘You are not getting a Leica! Not even for Christmas,’” the duchess joked in reference to the very expensive camera, before turning her attention to Harriman.

As many royal enthusiasts know by now, Princess Catherine’s love for photography can also be traced back to her childhood. The princess has since used her camera skills to capture a number of important moments on film, from royal family portraits to photos of her kids.

For example, the Princess of Wales shot her daughter Princess Charlotte’s 7th birthday portrait, which shows the young royal hugging the family dog while sitting in a field of flowers.

But Catherine and Archie aren’t the only photography lovers in the fam. Even the late Queen Elizabeth was a natural behind the camera. Back in 2021, the royal family shared a slideshow of photos on IG that featured the monarch taking pictures throughout the years. In the caption, they said, “To mark #WorldPhotographyDay, here are a few moments where The Queen has been pictured behind the lens.”

Seems like photography runs in the royal fam.
