She didn't see it coming

Suits ended its run back in 2019, but when the legal drama was added to Netflix and Peacock earlier this year, it received a major surge in viewers, becoming the most-watched acquired series in a single week at Netflix. In fact, the renewed interest in Suits was so high that NBCUniversal ordered a spin-off series in October (following the short-lived spinoff, titled Pearson, which ran for one season in 2019). Recently, one of the show’s stars, Meghan Markle, 42, responded to Suits’s streaming popularity.

Markle (who played Rachel Zane on the series) attended Variety's Power of Women event, where journalist Angelique Jackson said to her, per People, “I'm sure that you've probably noticed that a certain show, Suits, has become a phenomenon yet again on Netflix.”

In response, the Duchess of Sussex said, “Isn’t that wild?” And when Jackson told her that the show had been watched for 45 billion minutes as of that week, the royal said, “Is that right?” She then cheekily added, “But who’s counting?”

When asked why she thought Suits was resonating so strongly with viewers years after its final season wrapped, Markle said, “I have no idea. It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit...But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”

All we know is that we're crossing our fingers that Meghan makes a cameo in the upcoming Suits spinoff.
