Meghan Markle Just Mirrored Princess Diana’s Early ‘90s Style at the Airport

Fresh off an incredibly successful tour of Nigeria with her husband Prince Harry—an invitation that was extended due to Harry’s work on the Invictus Games—Meghan Markle was spotted touching down at Los Angeles International Airport, the last leg of her journey home. Over the weekend, she wore everything from a stunning peach maxi to an event at Lightway Academy in Abuja to the yellow dress she wore to celebrate Archie’s first birthday (and to announce her second pregnancy in 2021) for a reception in Lagos.

Then, it was a “blink and you might miss it” moment to see her disembark before being whisked home to Montecito, but Meghan’s airport outfit—which included a Jamilla linen blazer from Loro Piana, worn over a sweater and jeans, both in white—seemed a direct nod to a style combo once worn by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, in the early ‘90s.

Meghan even wore an almost identical match of Diana’s flats.

It’s not the first time Meghan has opted to wear head-to-toe white, but the choice to pair it with a camel blazer and YSL Chris slippers in white and tan felt intentional. Back in the fall of 1994, Diana stepped out in London wearing a very similar look.

Of course, the late Princess of Wales was also well-known for her love of an oversized blazer, a style that is officially back in vogue. But we love to see any acknowledgment—intentional or not—of Diana’s iconic sartorial power.

Also, anyone else contemplating a brand-new, easy-breezy airport look?
