If there’s one thing we know about Meghan Markle, 42, it’s that she hasn’t shied away from talking about her royal days, whether it was the Duchess and Duke of Sussex’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey or the couple’s tell-all docuseries on Netflix titled Harry & Meghan.

And now, the Suits alum is speaking out again but this time on a topic that has been near and dear to her heart for years, dating back to her time as a working royal. Markle is sharing her unwavering support for a U.K. charity she has stood by since 2019. The woman-led charity, Smart Works, recently posted a heartfelt message written by the mother of two in honor of the non-profit organization’s 10th anniversary since opening its doors in 2013.

“Congratulations to the entire Smart Works community on 10 incredible years of transforming lives,” Markle wrote in the message. “For the last decade, you have made an indelible mark on women across the UK who have walked into your doors in need of more than just an outfit—they needed someone to believe in them.”

She continued, “As I’ve said before, you provide much more than a handout, at Smart Works you provide a handheld. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand the unforgettable smile that comes across a woman’s face when she receives the Smart Works experience of care, inspiration, and empowerment. Something changes for her in that moment, and sets her on a path she may never have thought possible.”

On one final note, Markle concluded the note by saying, “At Smart Works, you are investing in the future of women, and as a result, the world. I am so grateful to all of you who make this work possible each and every day. Celebrating you from across the pond and wishing you another amazing decade!”

Per Hello! Magazine, Markle’s relationship with the charity goes back to January 2019, when the royal duchess first became a patron of the London-based organization. She has shown her continued support for Smart Works since stepping down from her senior royal position in January 2020.

According to the official website, the charity aims to “give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential,” whether that be obtaining full employment or choosing a new career path in life.

Such kind words from the duchess.
