Markle opted for the Eileen cotton shirt ($228) while out and about on her Oceania tour. Sure, her shirt isn’t inexpensive, but it’s definitely easier to justify than her couture. So, I bought it…and it was totally worth it.
The boyfriend-cut button-down feels luxurious and casual all at the same time. I’ve worn it both tucked in and out, as well as tied up with mom jeans and loved it every way. It’s a great mix of preppy and cool-girl chic that I expect to have in my closet for years to come.
In addition to the Duchess of Sussex, Frank & Eileen is also beloved by Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Garner, Kristen Bell and Reese Witherspoon. Frank & Eileen’s button-downs, which range in price from $228 to $258, are crafted from menswear fabrics woven at a millinery in Italy, hence the price.
But, if you’re interested in enjoying the similar quality and style at a lower price, Frank & Eileen founder Audrey McLoghlin recently launched Grayson. Her new line offers similar button-downs priced from $128 to $158 (but there are some on sale at Nordstrom for $83!). As I can attest, they’re also fantastic.
I’ve personally been wearing Grayson’s The Hero washed cotton shirts in the Clara Navy Stripe, which is on sale for $77 right now, and the Eleanor white, pink and blue stripe shirt, which is also on sale for $83. They’re incredibly comfortable and look just as stylish with jeans and sneakers as they do with leather pants and pointed-toe heels. Also, as a largish-chested lady, I was overjoyed to find that Grayson’s shirts don’t awkwardly gap at the bust.
Hooray for modesty and matching my beloved Meghan Markle.
