You Can Officially Buy a Piece of Meghan Markle History: Her ‘Deal or No Deal’ Briefcase

Once upon a time, before she was the Duchess of Sussex and the former star of Suits, Meghan Markle was a briefcase model on Deal or No Deal. Yes, the fashion icon and humanitarian was wearing uncomfortable five-inch heels and smiling with case number 24 ten years before she joined the royal fold. (That’s what we call progress.) Now, we commoners finally have a chance to snag a little piece of the 38-year-old duchess’s history.

The very briefcase that Markle carried on the series from 2006 to 2007 of the Howie Mandel-hosted game show is officially up for auction from Tuesday, December 17 to Thursday, December, 19, via the Hollywood: A Collector’s Ransom Auction. According to The Sun, Markle’s case is expected to sell for about $6,500. We wouldn’t quite call that a deal, but can you really put a price on what could potentially be the good luck charm that landed Markle her new life with Prince Harry and baby Archie? Answer: No.

Markle worked (with Chrissy Teigen!) as a briefcase model for 34 episodes before leaving the show to pursue more traditional acting roles. She landed the leading role of Rachel Zane on the USA series Suits in 2011 before she opted to exit the series in 2018 to embrace her fulltime career as a royal.

In addition to Markle’s case, the upcoming auction includes such Hollywood memorabilia as Judy Garland’s Wizard of Oz outfit, Marty McFly’s letter to Doc Brown in Back to the Future and more.

All items could conveniently fit in the Duchess of Sussex’s briefcase. Just saying…
