Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Just Welcomed Their Baby Girl—and We Already Have the Name

This just in: The Sussexes are officially a family of four.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just revealed that they welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. There are definitely some family connections to the name, with Lilibet being the nickname of Queen Elizabeth II (used by her late husband, Prince Philip) and Diana being included to honor Prince Harry's mother.

The exciting news was shared on the Archewell website, were they said that Lili was born on June 4 at 11:40 am at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She was born weighing 7 lbs 11 oz. The news was shared with a message from the royal couple that said, “The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.”

We first learned about Markle’s second pregnancy on Valentine’s Day when the royal couple released a statement obtained by People magazine. A spokesperson told the outlet, “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

The date of the baby announcement paid tribute to Prince Harry’s late mom, Princess Diana. (When she was pregnant with Harry in 1984, the palace announced the exciting news on February 13. By Valentine’s Day, the world was buzzing with royal baby fever.)

Shortly after, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a tell-all conversation, titled Oprah with Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special. During the interview, Prince Harry and Markle revealed that she was expecting a girl.

“To have a boy and then a girl, what more could you ask for?” Prince Harry said. When asked about the possibility of more children, Markle confirmed, “Two is it.”

In addition to their new daughter, Prince Harry and Markle are also parents to a 2-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Congratulations to the entire Sussex family!
