‘Virgin River’ Lead Martin Henderson Teases His New Star-Studded Horror Flick ‘X’ on Instagram

When we think of Martin Henderson, we usually associate him with his romantic roles, like Dr. Nathan Riggs on Grey's Anatomy or Jack Sheridan on Virgin River. However, Henderson is starring in an upcoming movie from A24, where he appears to be taking on a completely different part.

The new film, titled X, follows a group of aspiring filmmakers in the late ’70s attempting to record an adult film while staying at a farm in rural Texas. However, when their gracious hosts find out what the group is up to, things take a turn for the worse.

Directed by Ti West (The House of the Devil, V/H/S), X is packed with stars, including Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega, Brittany Snow and Scott Mescudi (AKA Kid Cudi). The horror flick will see its world premiere next month, which Henderson was hoping to build anticipation for on his Instagram.

“Putting the X in #SXSW [knife emoji],” Henderson wrote in his caption, along with a promo poster for the film. “World Premiere March 13 @A24 @XMovie.”

The official trailer for the film was released only a few weeks back, and it gives a good sense of the terror that ensues in X (while also giving us a taste of the heavy southern accent Henderson uses in the film).

“It's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission,” the 47-year-old actor says in the clip. But this group may regret their decision when they start getting haunted by the wife of the property.

Along with its premiere at SXSW, X will drop exclusively in theaters on March 18. Consider us scared, but definitely interested.
