It’s been 13 years since Martha Stewart was found guilty of felony charges (among a slew of other things) and incarcerated at Federal Prison Camp, Alderson, in Alderson, West Virginia, and, now, she’s finally opening up about her five-month prison stint.
The lifestyle guru joined Katie Couric on her self-titled podcast on October 5, and as Couric dove into the subject of Stewart's jail time, the Martha Stewart Living doyenne joked, “I call it Yale. I went to Yale for five months. I read a lot. I learned a lot.”
Snoop Dogg’s bestie then took a more serious tone and spoke candidly about her time behind bars, saying, “It was horrifying, and no one—no one—should have to go through that kind of indignity, really, except for murderers, and there are a few other categories, but no one should have to go through that. It’s a very, very awful thing.”
We’re guessing Orange Is the New Black isn’t on her Netflix queue...
