Sure, Mark Consuelos, 53, and Kelly Ripa, 53, share three children together, but that hasn’t stopped the Riverdale alum from thinking about the possibility of becoming a grandparent.

Earlier this month, Consuelos sat down for a profile interview with the lifestyle magazine, Mr Feelgood.  At one point during the discussion, the daytime talk show host talked about how he and his wife have now become “empty nesters” (as they stated in this year’s holiday card) because their kids are all grown up.

And as a result, the All My Children star is already thinking about grandchildren. “We’re designing things around that,” Consuelos said, referring to himself and his wife. “We want to be the magnets; we want to be the favorite grandparents. So we’re building the magnets so they have to come to us. It’s those kinds of conversations that really tie us together.”

Ripa and Consuelos are the proud parents of Michael, 26, Lola, 22, and Joaquin Antonio, 20. The pair met on the set of All My Children in 1995 and tied the knot a year later.

This is not the first time Consuelos has talked about being a grandparent. In March of 2023, the actor had a candid discussion with his wife on her podcast series, Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa

During the episode, he said, “We should have had, like, a good year or two years just to ourselves. But no, I think that I’m looking forward to being a grandfather. I’m really looking forward to that. That’s about as much parenting as I want.”

Consuelos also touched on why he doesn’t want to have any more kids. “I don’t want more kids. I’ll be an older dad,” he explained.

It’s never too early to start thinking about the future, Mark.
