Major congrats are in order for Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos's son, Joaquin, who will soon be headed off to college!
Ripa shared the news on Instagram by posting a photo of Consuelos and their 18-year-old son, where they can be seen sporting gear from the University of Michigan. The Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host captioned the post, "Sunday Vibes," adding yellow and blue hearts to signify the school's official colors.
In the pic, the twinning father-son duo are all smiles. Joaquin wears a regular school hoodie while his father poses in the university's wrestling merch. In his IG Story, Consuelos confirmed that his son would be studying theater and joining the school's wrestling team, aka the Michigan Wolverines.
The school's official wrestling IG account shared their excitement with a welcome post for the incoming freshman. They wrote, "SIGNED: Welcome to the family, @joaquinconsuelos! #NewBlue #GoBlue."
Strength coach and University of Michigan alum, Rob Sulaver, also wrote, "It's soo awesome to see another wrestler/theater major at the University of Michigan. It's an incredibly unique (and demanding) experience, but it's absolutely worth it. There is no better place to get a world class education as both an athlete and artist. Shine bright Joaquin!"
For those who missed it, Joaquin was quite the wrestler in high school. In fact, he once competed at the prestigious Mayor’s Cup in New York City, where he won the tournament after breaking his nose. Fortunately, he remained in good spirits and recovered rather quickly, thanks to—wait for it—tampons.
In a previous Live taping, Ripa told Seacrest, "Did you know that when you break your nose while you’re wrestling, that they put tampons up there? I guess the doctor looked at him and said, ‘Put two tampons up there and call me in the morning.’"
