Mark Consuelos Opens Up About Having More Children on Wife Kelly Ripa’s New Podcast

After listening to Kelly Ripa (52) and her husband, Mark Consuelos (51), have an open conversation in the preview trailer for her new podcast series, Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, it’s safe to say that having more kids is not in the cards for the Riverdale alum.

In the two-minute teaser that just dropped on Tuesday, March 7, Ripa asked her hubby (and future co-host) whether or not he would ever be open to re-marrying if circumstances were different. To that, Consuelos responded by saying he doesn’t want to tie the knot for a second time because he doesn’t want to have any more children. 

“I don’t want more kids. I’ll be an older dad,” he revealed in the teaser. Completely surprised by his answer, Ripa asked, “Do you know how many dads I know [who are] older than you that were just starting to have kids?”

Consuelos commended all the older dads out there thriving, but he doesn’t see that life for himself. “Yeah. And those poor bastards have no idea, because what happens next? You’re talking about hip replacements, knee replacements, and they’re gonna be that dad, not there’s anything wrong with that dad,” the actor explained to his wife. 

He continued, “But I did it early. I didn’t plan it that way. It just happened. And we got really lucky, that's what we did when we did it.”

But, there is another title the How I Met Your Father star is eagerly waiting to embrace in the future. He added, “We should have had, like, a good year or two years just to ourselves. But no, I think that I’m looking forward to being a grandfather. I’m really looking forward to that. That’s about as much parenting as I want.”
