Ryan Seacrest was absent for every episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan last week. But luckily, Kelly Ripa brought in one of her go-to guest co-hosts: her hubby, Mark Consuelos. And by the looks of today's episode, Consuelos isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
On Monday, producers of the hit morning show shared their daily behind-the-scenes video on the Live official Live Instagram account, which confirms that the Riverdale star has returned this week to fill in for Seacrest.
Right on cue, Ripa and Consuelos are seen holding hands as they walk onto the stage, where they make their way to their seats. (The actor even pulls the chair out for his wife, like Seacrest does every morning.) “Guest cohost @instasuelos,” the caption read.
While we don’t for sure why Seacrest has been MIA for the last eight days, a quick look at his social media revealed that he is currently working on the next season of American Idol. The 46-year-old actor shared a snap on Twitter and Instagram on Sunday, featuring himself alongside Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and more of the AI team. “Picking up where we left off. The band is back together for number 20! @americanidol,” he captioned the post.
Again, we want to emphasize that we are just speculating. We don’t know if that’s really why Seacrest has been absent from the last six episodes of Live (or when he will return). We’re just happy to see Consuelos has stepped in to help (again).
