In the video, Carey is wearing a red ball gown and holding a baseball bat. When she steps on her porch, she comes face to face with a Halloween display featuring three jack-o’-lanterns sitting on a bale of hay. Together, the pumpkins say, “It’s not time.”
Naturally, Carey stands behind the middle one before smashing it to pieces. The pumpkins now read: “It’s time.”
Right on cue, “All I Want for Christmas” begins playing in the background, while Carey opens gifts, holds up ornaments and resumes her role as queen of the holidays.
Carey captioned the post, “Ready? Let’s go MariahSZN.”
Shortly after she posted the video, Chart Data confirmed that Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” has already infiltrated the top 200 songs on iTunes (in the U.S., at least). Although it seems like a major accomplishment, it’s important to note that the track typically makes a comeback during this time of year. So, this can only mean one thing: It’s just the beginning.
The tweet read, “@MariahCarey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ has re-entered the top 200 on US iTunes.”
Thank you, Carey. We really needed this.
