Mariah Carey Wears a Shimmery Red Gown in a Swimming Pool (& Her Daughter Makes a Surprise Cameo)

Earlier this week, the Grammy-Award-winning singer went on Instagram Live to celebrate the anniversary of her tenth studio album, The Emancipation of Mimi. Carey also wanted to call attention to the “Big Energy” remix, her latest collab with Latto and DJ Khaled. The single just topped the Billboard Digital Sales Chart and the R&B/Hip Hop charts.

Carey wrote in the caption, “IG Live!!!! Celebrating The Emancipation of Mimi and Big Energy Remix with the lambily!!!” alongside lamb and red heart emojis.

The video starts with the “Fantasy” singer rocking a sparkly red dress in a swimming pool. “Hello darlings,” she says, greeting her fans. “You were wondering what a splash was, so here it is!” Carey proceeded to ask the viewers, “Do you like my ensemble? Not going to tell you who made it, but you like him.”

During the video, Carey’s daughter, Monroe Cannon, joins her in the swimming pool. Monroe is sporting a purple and blue pajama set. The “We Belong Together” singer points out that they’re not “twins,” since she has decided to straighten her hair—whereas Monroe is shown flaunting her natural curls. The singer shares 10-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with her ex-husband, Nick Cannon. 

Her loyal followers couldn’t get enough of her show-stopping ensemble. “You look so stunning omgggg [red heart emojis],” one fan wrote in the comments section. Another said, “You look amazing!!! Such a fun live!”
