‘Tis the season. As soon as the clock struck 12 A.M. on November 1, Mariah Carey (aka the Queen of Christmas) posted a brand-new video on Instagram to begin the countdown to the holiday season.

The video starts with a timer counting down the seconds until Halloween ends. And when the clock strikes 12, a frozen vault door opens to reveal Carey (in a block of ice) waiting to be released. Meanwhile, there are people dressed in scary masks trying to free her from the ice with hairdryers. Then, the block of ice breaks and Carey emerges, singing in a gorgeous melody, “It’s tiiiiiiime.”

In a matter of seconds, the entire scenery changes to a Christmas wonderland, with wrapped presents and snow falling. And of course, Carey is dressed for the occasion (as always).

The 54-year-old singer is wearing a Mrs. Claus outfit with black gloves and shoes to match. While dancing to the tune of “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Carey is joined by her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, who have Christmas lights hanging from their necks.

In the caption, the singer wrote, “It’s…… TIME!!! #MariahSZN.”

Carey has been hailed as the Queen of Christmas for as long as we can remember. With the success of her smash-hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and the festive albums to follow, it’s no secret that the holidays are her favorite time of the year.

Back in November 2022, Carey sat down with W Magazine and shared where her love for Christmas stems from. She explained to the publication how her tough upbringing led her to have a newfound love for the holiday.

“When you grow up with a messed-up life and then you’re able to have this transformation where you can make your life what you want it to be? That is joy for me,” she told the publication. “That’s why I want my kids to have everything they can have. I want them to be able to understand that they can be anything they want to be.”
