Margot Robbie just confirmed that she went to great lengths to feel connected to her character, Sharon Tate, in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The 29-year-old star recently sat down for an interview with the Today show, where she revealed that she wore the late actress’s jewelry while filming the Quentin Tarantino movie.
Yup, Robbie obtained the items from Tate’s daughter, Debra, who is “such an advocate for keeping the memory of Sharon alive.” Since Robbie didn’t know much about the character prior to the movie, she admitted that the pieces helped her appreciate who Sharon was as a person.
“I was never really exposed to the parts of her life when she was alive, and that was kind of a beautiful part of taking on this role—spending so much time with that aspect, and really appreciating her life as opposed to just knowing about her death,” she said.
