If, as the saying goes, choosing a spouse is the most important decision you will ever make, let us take a moment to praise the fine judgement of Mandy Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith. Moore just posted an Instagram shout-out to her "T." for their sixth anniversary, and it's all hearts and flowers and ... sadly, a little bit of a soggy rainbow in the confession that "pretty much the whole house is under the weather."
Mandy Moore’s Sweet 6-Year Anniversary Came with a Surprising Twist
Relatable scenes from a marriage
Oof—parents of small kids have experienced their littles basically being cold and flu spreaders. However, Moore doesn't let a little rain stop her parade of praise, writing to her husband that "you’re on a plane back out on the road, after flying home to spend 24 hours with the family (which kind of says it all). World’s greatest dad, friend, brother, son, band member, etc…. I’m the lucky one who gets to call you the greatest husband." Awww.
The This is Us star goes on to share some love for her family (Moore gave birth to infant Lousie in September): "Thank you for this dream life. 3 kids in less than 4 years! We’re IN IT but no one I’d rather do it with."
Along with her loving message, Moore posted a picture of her husband across an outdoor dining table at what she says was their first post-birth "date night" and honestly, her husband does look a little sleepy (although I did a double take at seeing how warmly he was smiling at his wife).
Not to be outdone, Goldsmith posted his own anniversary tribute on the same day as Moore, with his post extolling that the day they married, "I feel like that was the day life really began."
"You always have my favorite take on any given situation," he wrote, "always the most insightful point of view, always buoying me up in the harder moments, and always taking good care of everyone around you."
He finishes by giving Moore props as "the world’s greatest mother, partner and friend." However, got to hand it to this man as a realist—he's the singer-songwriter for the fold rock band Dawes—when he slips in some real facts concerning their kids, three-year-old Gus and then one-year-old Ozzie: "Things are wild right now and Ozzie wakes everyone up too early."
Celebrity parents, they're just like us. If we're super-lucky and loving like Moore and Goldsmith. Happy anniversary, you two.
