Lorelai Meets Midge? Lauren Graham Just Addressed Those ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Rumors

Lauren Graham is setting the record straight on those Marvelous Mrs. Maisel casting rumors, and (disclaimer!) it doesn’t look good.

Last night, the 52-year-old actress attended the 77th annual Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Although series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino previously revealed that she’s developing a role for the Gilmore Girls star on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Graham admitted that it’s not actually happening. (At least not yet.)

“You know, when we finally did the Gilmore Girls movies, I thought that rumors about Gilmore Girls-related things would be done. But no!” she told E! News. “And I’m actually thrilled about this one because Amy and I talk all the time, and I’d love to work with her in any capacity.”

But don’t get your hopes up. Graham went on to say that there’s no concrete plan for her to join the cast, adding, “There’s nothing on the books but love the show.”

The news might surprise some fans, since Graham specifically asked Sherman-Palladino to be involved in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

“Lauren made a request, and Lauren is my queen and the reason I have a career, so I honor the request of Lauren Graham,” Sherman-Palladino told Entertainment Tonight back in March of last year. “I’m trying to figure it out.”

While Midge Maisel couldn’t be more different than Lorelai Gilmore, we can only hope their worlds one day collide.
