Princess Diana's Niece Revealed Baby Daughter's Name (Along with New Photo)—and We Very Nearly Missed It

Something must be in the air, because just like Mindy Kaling, Lady Kitty Spencer gave birth to a newborn baby—and kept the pregnancy a secret from the public. And now, the 33-year-old niece of Princess Diana, married to multi-millionaire Michael Lewis (65), has finally revealed her child's name—four months later—and we almost missed the announcement.

The royal has mostly kept her newborn out of the spotlight, likely to have a moment to relish in her bundle of joy sans flashing cameras and mobs of royal reporters. However, Lady Spencer recently made a post on Instagram revealing her little girl's name in the caption.

The post, a black and white photograph of her and her newborn, shot by Susheel Schroeder, shows the two sitting in a windowsill looking outside. The little one wears a dress adorned with illustrated bees on it while she peers out the window, face pressed up against the glass. Lady Spencer wears a light-colored button down shirt with lace detailing on the cuffs and a pair of light-colored jeans to match. She kisses the top of her baby's head with her eyes closed and has a hand around her body to steady her.

Susheel Schroeder, the photographer who snapped the gorgeous, intimate picture, is also known for her published work in Vogue, Tatler, GQ, The Telegraph and The FT. It's no wonder she was able to capture such a beautiful mother-daughter moment. The caption reads, "Athena watching the world go by."

Lady Spencer's post garnered 39.2 thousand likes and just over 607 comments, many of which were praising the royal's choice of moniker. One comment read, "Oooh darling... Athena is so gorgeous!! Like her mama." And another, "What a fantastic Greek name," a fan said of the Mediterranean-inspired choice.

According to The Bump, 'Athena,' is a name that means 'goddess of wisdom,' and we're certain that Baby Spencer will embody it fully. Just look how curious she already is.
