First, Kate Middleton made a jaw-dropping health announcement. Then, King Charles followed suit with an equally heartbreaking diagnosis. A few months later, Queen Camilla was forced to miss an official state visit due to a chest infection. Although it’s been a turbulent year for the royal family, King Charles just proved that he still has a sense of humor.
King Charles Was a Total Jokester When Asked for Health Update
He still has a sense of humor
Today, the monarch, 76, attended a special reception at Waltham Forest Town Hall with Queen Camilla. During a conversation with a guest, King Charles poked fun at the difficult year he’s had by cracking a joke about his health.
“How are you?” the person asked (according to Hello! magazine). King Charles smiled before delivering a priceless response: “I’m still alive.”
The appearance came just a few hours after Buckingham Palace shared a separate update about King Charles’s cancer treatment. A palace source told NBC News that he’s “moving in a positive direction.” The insider confirmed that the monarch’s “treatment cycle will continue into next year,” but they assured the public that his illness is in a “managed condition.”
Back in February, Buckingham Palace released a statement announcing that King Charles was undergoing cancer treatment after the issue was identified during an unrelated surgery. It read, “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”
The statement continued, “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”
Glad to see his sense of humor is still intact.
