Royal Family Unveils New Portrait of King Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles Ahead of Coronation

In honor of King Charles’s coronation ceremony (which is set to take place next month), royally-obsessed fans were treated to a brand-new portrait of the monarch and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles (AKA the Queen Consort).

The stunning photo was shared on the royal family’s Instagram page on Tuesday, April 4. In the newly-released portrait (taken by photographer Hugo Burnand), the married couple is all smiles as they pose side-by-side in the Blue Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace. (FYI, the royal pair posed for the photo back in March.)

While staying on theme with the royal room, King Charles is seen donning a navy blue suit with a white button-down shirt and a matching blue tie. Meanwhile, Bowles rocks an ocean-blue dress with a vibrant pearl necklace and earrings. 

In the caption, new details about the king’s coronation weekend were revealed. It was announced that eight Pages of Honor have been chosen to attend the royal pair’s celebratory event. According to the caption, the pages will be a part of the procession through the Nave of Westminster Abbey.

The king’s pages will include his grandson Prince George, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Master Nicholas Barclay and Master Ralph Tollemache. In contrast, Bowles’s pages will feature grandsons Master Gus, Master Louis Lopes and Master Freddy Parker Bowles and her great-nephew, Master Arthur Elliot.

Aside from the new royal photo, King Charles’s first painted portrait also made its big debut yesterday. In the piece of art (painted by artist Alastair Barford), His Majesty looks quite dapper in a navy blue suit, a white collared shirt and a pink tie with a handkerchief tucked into his breast pocket.
