Kim Cattrall Responds to ‘And Just Like That’ Cameo News with Two-Word Post on Instagram

Sex and the City fans were left in utter shock after multiple news outlets announced that actress Kim Cattrall would be returning as Samantha in the second season of And Just Like That (which premieres on June 22, btw). Shortly after the surprise cameo made headlines, Cattrall, 66, went on social media to confirm the news herself—along with an important message.

In the spirit of Pride Month, the Sex and the City alum posted a screenshot of the exclusive Variety article confirming her return on Instagram. In the caption, Cattrall wrote, “Happy Pride…” alongside rainbow emojis and a link to the story.

In the comment section, Sex and the City fans shared their excitement for Samantha’s return to the spinoff series. One fan commented, “We’ve been WAITING!” Another said, “And just like that… you’re making our summer even better,” with a flaming hot emoji.

Cattrall’s return to And Just Like That certainly took fans of the spinoff (and original series) by surprise because she has been candid about her disinterest in returning to the Sex and the City franchise. 

“I was never asked to be part of the reboot. I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did—on social media,” she told Variety last year.
