The 2019 Academy Awards ceremony? Meh, pretty fine. The slew of stars debuting new haircuts, colors and styles? Wayyy more exciting. But brunette bobs weren’t the only lewk of the night. Kerry Washington showed off an even shorter style post-ceremony.
The 42-year-old actor and producer stepped out at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party with a fresh pixie—courtesy of hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew—and we love.
According to her Instagram post, the stylist was inspired by the 1950s feel of Washington’s Maison Schiaparelli gown, and wanted the cut to give off Audrey Hepburn vibes. “I decided the hair should be short in a smooth cut but still a little messy and undone for that sultry touch,”she said.
To get the look, her stylist shampooed and conditioned, then prepped with Matrix Total Results Keep Me Vivid Color Velvetizer (which she calls a “best kept secret”). She smoothed the style with a mini flatiron, finished with more Velvetizer for shine, then sprayed Matrix Style Link Texture Builder Messy Finish Spray at Washington’s roots.
