First, Kate Middleton wore a stunning burgundy suit during her first official appearance since completing chemotherapy. Then, Taylor Swift took a page out of the duchess’s fashion handbook by wearing burgundy boots to the Chiefs game. And now, Kerry Washington is the latest celebrity to prove that burgundy is *the* color of 2024.

This week, Washington posted a slideshow of photos on her personal Instagram account that were taken during the Six Triple Eight press tour. The 47-year-old actress was wearing a stunning monochrome ensemble that paid tribute to the “it” color of the season (aka: burgundy).

Washington was wearing a burgundy dress that featured a large chest cutout. She paired it with a matching leather jacket and shiny knee-high boots. She parted her hair down the middle and styled it with voluminous curls that framed her face but didn’t take away from the fabulousness of the outfit.

The caption read, “And the press tour begins… [salute emoji] [checkered flag emoji] #TheSixTripleEight #SixTripleAte.”

Washington is preparing to release her upcoming film, The Six Triple Eight, which will hit Netflix on December 20. The war drama is inspired by Kevin M. Hymel’s article “Fighting a Two-Front War,” and it depicts the true story of the first and only all-female Army Corps unit: the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. Washington portrays a highly respected captain who’s determined to lead her unit to victory.

Washington understood the burgundy assignment.
