Kelly Ripa Handles Rowdy Audience Members Like a Pro and Tells Them to ‘Stop’ During ‘Live’ Segment

Kelly Ripa, 52, surprised viewers on Live with Kelly and Mark this week when she politely asked some audience members to quiet down after interrupting the opening segment of the show. Allow us to further explain. 

On Monday’s episode, Ripa and her husband/co-host, Mark Consuelos, 52, briefly talked about the upcoming football game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles, which happened later that night.

“You know what tonight is, right?” the Riverdale alum excitedly told the audience. “Tonight is Monday night. Do you know what happens on Monday night? There’s football on Monday night!” 

At one point during the show, the couple was interrupted by a group of excited football fans in the audience, who were cheering for their favorite teams. While the moment is not shown in the video above, Entertainment Weekly noted that Ripa turned to the audience members and kindly told them to “stop” screaming before laughing it off and continuing on with the segment.

Consuelos went on to present Ripa with a signed jersey from Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield. Ripa playfully reacted to the jersey by saying, “I cannot possibly be seen in this.” Since Ripa is a big Eagles fan and all, she didn’t intend to be caught wearing the opponent’s jersey. 

And that’s when Consuelos (who is a massive Buccaneers fan) pitched an idea to his wife: If the Eagles lost the game, Ripa had to wear the Buccaneers team jersey on the next episode of Live.

Sadly for Consuelos, the Buccaneers lost their game against the Philadelphia Eagles. In a clip from Tuesday’s episode (shown below), Consuelos can be seen wearing a bright green Eagles jersey. “So, the Buccaneers lost,” he revealed to the audience. “But, I saw some bright spots in our loss.”
