Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are about to be empty nesters.
The couple celebrated their youngest son Joaquin's (18) high school graduation yesterday and Ripa shared the moment on Instagram, saying, “The Graduate! #2021.”
In the selfie, Ripa sports a light pink button up and a patterned skirt while Consuelos rocks a navy blue suit. The two smile next to their son, who is seen in his royal blue graduation robe.
While the Live with Kelly and Ryan host only shared one photo to her main page, she made sure to upload a bunch of snaps to her story throughout the day. Earlier that morning, Ripa posed next to her son in his grad attire while wearing her bath robe, saying, “In our robes....... #graduation.” Later, she posted pics of Joaquin from the ceremony with the tag #2021.
Ripa also showed Joaquin "casually chatting" with his commencement speaker, Gayle King, who hosts CBS This Morning (we guess Joaquin is used to being around big-time TV personalities).
In one moment, Ripa showed herself holding hands with husband Mark Consuelos, and she wrote: “The empty nesters.” Joaquin is the youngest child between the pair, with older siblings Michael (24) and Lola (19) already out of the house.
Following his graduation from the Churchill School and Center, Joaquin will be attending the University of Michigan to continue his wrestling career. Just last week, the family visited the school and Ripa shared a hilarious caption that said, “Looks like @instasuelos just found out he won’t be @joaquinconsuelos roommate in the fall. #goblue.”
The couple celebrated Joaquin's next steps by getting a University of Michigan birthday cake, which Ripa shared in a story that said, “@bcakeny almost too gorgeous to eat..........almost.”
