Kelly Ripa’s Daughter Lola Walks in on Mom and Dad Relaxing and Is Greeted with a Surprise

After a long day of work, it seems only right for Kelly Ripa, 52, and her husband, Mark Consuelos, 51, to take time to relax. But their daughter, Lola Consuelos, 21, had a lot to say about how they choose to spend their downtime.

On yesterday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, Ripa told her co-host, Ryan Seacrest, about a time her daughter entered their bedroom and received a surprise. At the time, Mark was sound asleep and Ripa was knitting a scarf.

When Lola came into the room while on FaceTime with her brothers, Michael, 25, and Joaquin, 19, she saw what her parents were doing and couldn’t believe her eyes.

“But it’s so funny, my daughter came into the room, and she was FaceTiming with her brothers, so they came to see the parents,” Ripa said, according to Hello! Magazine. “And they're like ‘Mom, what’re you doing?’ And Lola said, ‘Well basically, our parents are now grandparents because dad is sleeping and it’s 6 PM and mom is knitting.’”

Ripa continued, “And that’s literally what was happening, it’s 6 PM and Mark was sound asleep and I’m knitting next to him.”

Ripa found her daughter’s comment quite amusing, saying, “Is that all there is? What's the next step to this, vodka and prune juice? Looking forward to sunset so we can go to sleep?”

Lola has been spending a lot of time with her parents ever since she returned home from studying abroad and is completing her last semester of college at New York University. On a previous episode of Live, Ripa and her husband Mark recounted another time their daughter entered their bedroom without knocking and they warned her about “freaky week.”
