Kelly Ripa isn’t one to pick favorites…or is she?
Yesterday, the actress, 53, celebrated National TV Talk Show Host Day by sharing a slideshow of photos on Instagram featuring her “favorite co-host” (her words, not ours): Mark Consuelos. The post featured a variety of selfies, stills and behind-the-scenes photos that were taken on the set of Live with Kelly and Mark.
The caption read, “Celebrating my favorite co-host on National TV Talk Show Host Day! Has it really been 6 months already?!” Before Consuelos, Ripa hosted the show with Regis Philbin, Michael Strahan and Ryan Seacrest.
In the comments section, fans and followers shared supportive messages about Ripa’s new co-host. One person wrote, “Kelly—this is your best tv partner of all!!! I have always loved you, but completely hooked since Mark joined you—can’t miss a Kelly & Mark day! You two are simply the best!!”
Another added, “Great move on Kelly’s part to bring in Mark for Ryan’s replacement!! Fantastic idea!! Best part of my morning!”
The comments are referring to Seacrest’s departure back in February 2023. At the time, the American Idol host, 48, announced that he was leaving Live with Kelly and Ryan after six successful seasons.
He said, “Working alongside Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career. She has been an amazing partner, friend, and confidant, and although we will always be a part of each other’s lives, I will miss our mornings together.”
Shortly after the news broke, Consuelos confirmed that he was replacing Seacrest to co-host the talk show alongside his wife. The series was aptly renamed Live with Kelly and Mark.
