Kelly Ripa just had a blast from her All My Children past.
The 51-year-old actress was accompanied by an unexpected guest host on today’s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan: Dondré Whitfield. Producers shared their daily behind-the-scenes video on the show’s official Instagram account, featuring the actor filling in for Ryan Seacrest.
In the clip, announcer Deja Vu welcomes the All My Children alums to the stage. Right on cue, Ripa turns the camera and kicks off the episode. “Filling in for Ryan today is Dondré Whitfield,” she says.
Ripa also shared a slideshow on Instagram, featuring herself and Whitfield posing with guest Keanu Reeves. While the first two pics were taken today, the last one is a throwback of Ripa and Whitfield from their All My Children days. (FYI: Ripa played Hayley Vaughan on the soap opera, while Whitfield played Terrence Frye.)
The caption read, “30 years of friendship enters the Matrix today on #live! @alldondre brings his A game, vintage pics, and #keanureeves (swipe to see us in 91’) I brought my signature awkward pose. You’re welcome.”
Whitfield also posted a slideshow on his personal Instagram account (see below) and wrote, “I put one our producers in the Matrix this morning, joining my friend @kellyripa on @livekellyandryan I’m sitting in for @ryanseacrest and grabbing the chair from my brother @instasuelos as Kelly and I talk with Keanu Reeves about Matrix Resurrections. Don’t miss this hour of television packed with legacy, fun and laughter!”
