Kelly Ripa is honoring the "sunshine" of her life with a touching birthday tribute.
On Instagram, the 53-year-old star shared rare photos of her mom, Esther, in honor of her birthday, including throwback Christmas pics with her father, Joseph. She wrote, "Happy birthday to the sunshine of my life, my mom Essie! She hates to have her picture taken so think of these photos as phenomena, each and every one!"
The LIVE with Kelly and Mark co-host included throwback pics of Esther dressed to the nines while posing with her daughter and husband. One fan commented, "Your mom is so beautiful, I see where you get your gorgeous looks from!! You are so blessed." Another fan wrote, "Happiest of birthdays to your beautiful mom!!! Great pictures, never stop taking them!!"
This isn't the first time Ripa gave fans a glimpse of her lookalike mom. In 2021, she shared a side-by-side image of herself and a young Esther (on the left). She simply captioned the post, “Mom 1980. Me 2005.”
Ripa and her mom could pass for twin sisters, thanks to their matching smiles and similar hairstyles. And I'm not the only one who noticed their uncanny resemblance. One person commented, "That's really amazing! Twins, both always beautiful." Another said, “I love her!! The Apple didn’t fall far!”
Additionally, Ripa gave her mom a birthday shoutout later that year, including childhood photos of Esther. She wrote, “Happy birthday to my favorite lady on earth. Mom I love you as much as you love hats and wigs!!”
