Kelly Clarkson Just Sang ‘I Put a Spell on You’ While Dressed in a ‘Hocus Pocus’ Costume

Kelly Clarkson opened the Halloween episode of her talk show with a cover you probably recognize from the movie Hocus Pocus, and we might have just found our favorite “Kellyoke” segment yet.

On Thursday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host surprised her audience with a rendition of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’s “I Put a Spell on You,” while dressed as Winifred Sanderson (aka Bette Midler's character) from the hit film.

Yep, we’re talking full wig, green dress, red lips and all. You can watch the full performance below.

Not only did she rock the witch's signature red hair, but Clarkson sounded spot-on as she walked through the crowd (who were also in costume) with backup singers dressed as Sarah and Mary Sanderson. And did you see those creepy bellhop dancers? Spooooooky.

In a segment of the talk show dubbed “Kellyoke,” it’s become tradition for Clarkson to open the episode with a musical number—anything from an original song to a cover of a classic like Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” (which she performed last week).

“We start every show with a song. So, I’m covering an artist I really like, and I’m in my element, so I’m comfortable,” she told E! News in September ahead of the show’s premiere. “By the time I get down here, it became very easy.”

Now that we’ve seen our first themed episode, we can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for all of the other holidays.

The Kelly Clarkson Show airs weekdays on NBC.
