Katy Perry is letting the world know that she was very intentional about her daughter's name.
The 36-year-old pop star recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss her experiences as a new mom. And during her interview, Perry revealed the meaning behind her daughter's flower-themed moniker‚ Daisy Dove Bloom—although it's not what most fans would expect.
After Jimmy asked Perry about her daughter's name, Perry explained, "Daisy, to me, means pure, like purity. And Dove means peace, and Bloom kind of feels like it means joy, so, pure, peace and joy."
If you recall, Perry began to hint at her daughter's name several months before she welcomed her baby girl. For example, in May, she shared an Instagram pic of herself donning a dress covered in daisies. And as it turns out, the songstress also released a single called “Daisies,” which is included on her latest album, Smile.
Aside from gushing over Daisy's name, Perry also opened up about the challenging recovery process after giving birth. She said, "Nobody talks about the first six weeks after you have the baby. OH MY GOSH. That's wild, what a roller coaster."
She continued, "I had my fifth album coming out and I gave birth. Every other album cycle, there'd be some kind of celebration or party or dinner. But this time, I was giving birth to the greatest gift of all. And then my album came out the next day, and I was in the hospital and I could not wipe my own butt. I was like, 'This is the most unusual album release day for me and I love it.'"
Perry went on to share how supportive her fiancé and Daisy's father, Orlando Bloom, has been during the process. She said, "He's been amazing, incredible, and we're so in love and we're so grateful."
Sounds like Katy and Orlando are already nailing it as parents.
