Katy Perry Braved a Blizzard to Star on ‘SNL,’ But Her Dog Stole the Show

Katy Perry is no stranger to the Saturday Night Live stage. The “Teenage Dream” singer has been a musical guest on the show three times, while also serving once as a host.

This past weekend, Perry returned to the NBC studio for her fourth turn as a musical guest, and while her performance with dancing mushrooms certainly wowed the audience, it was her dog, Nugget, who stole the show on Instagram.

On the 37-year-old singer's account, she revealed that Nugget came along for the trip to SNL, and the pair braved the blizzard that hit New York. Before arriving to the set, Perry posted a video to her Instagram Story of Nugget standing outside in the snow. Over the clip, she added a caption that said, “Watch me on @nbcsnl 2night! (IN A BLIZZARD OK).”

This wasn't the only glimpse we got of Nugget. The teacup poodle must have been ready for her close-up, because Perry posted a video of the dog standing on the SNL stage after the show. In the background of the video, someone says, “Live from New York, it's Nugget!” Perry then zooms out, while the dog stands completely still.

It seems that Perry and Nugget had quite the adventurous journey to SNL. On her account, Perry also shared a promo video to build excitement for her appearance and she said, “Flew into a blizzard to bring some heat to @nbcsnl see u tonight.”

Perry likes to spend much of her time with Nugget, constructing joint costumes with the dog and even bringing her along to star in music videos like the one for “Small Talk.”

We'll be waiting for Nugget's turn to host SNL.
