Holmes paired an autumnal orange wool blazer from Mango ($199) with a white T-shirt, beige mom jeans, black Acne Studios mules ($480) and a black Louis Vuitton LV Arch top-handle bag ($4,600). (Talk about high-low dressing.) She accessorized with her go-to assortment of delicate gold necklaces, black shades, a wet bun and, of course, a to-go cup of coffee.
Perhaps it’s the very fall shade of orange Holmes selected or the neutral outfit she paired the topper with, but we’re totally feeling her black and orange look. But she isn’t the first fashionista to proclaim black and orange a chic color combo. In fact, Queen Elizabeth, of all people, set the trend earlier this year (aka way ahead of Halloween) when she wore a vibrant orange overcoat with black buttons and matching black gloves.
Oversize blazers, like Holmes’s affordable pick, have also been gaining momentum this year as the season’s new go-to option for staying warm in transitional weather. And, at her Mango blazer’s wallet-friendly price, we might just snag one of our own.
Let it be known: Katie Holmes is in the midst of a style renaissance, and we totally love it.
