The video came on the heels of a brand-new King Charles portrait

In honor of Armed Forces Day, the royal family released a brand-new portrait of King Charles. And while this certainly caught my eye, I was even more taken by the moving new video Kensington Palace posted on its social media page, featuring Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Yesterday, the Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a video that included footage of Prince William in full army fatigues and Princess Catherine putting an armed forces headset on.

Accompanying the video was a caption reading, "On #ArmedForcesDay we thank all those serving in our military, in the UK and around the world, and the loved ones who support them in everything they do for our country." While the appearance of the Princess of Wales in never-before-seen footage is exciting, as I mentioned, it wasn't the only noteworthy post shared by the British royal family.

They also shared a new image of the British monarch holding a sword and donning plenty of medals and decorations. Alongside the image, Buckingham Palace wrote, "A new portrait of The King has been released to mark Armed Forces Day. His Majesty is Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Services."

But that wasn't all. The royals also shared a video of Queen Camilla supporting the members of the armed services and their families.

The caption read, "‘In times of war and in times of peace, whether seen or unseen, our Armed Forces support and strengthen our nation. You are a source of inspiration, reassurance and pride – and I salute you all.’"

It continued, "The Queen has recorded a message to thank all serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families on Armed Forces Day 2024."

I love seeing the royals showing their support for such an important group and cause.
