As Prince George celebrates his 11th birthday today, I wanted to share the oh-so-adorable throwback video I uncovered a while back of Kate Middleton at the same age.

In the rare footage, the Princess of Wales is singing a rendition of “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly,” which is performed by Audrey Hepburn in the 1964 musical film, My Fair Lady. While sporting an elegant updo, an 11-year-old Princess Catherine is showing off her impressive singing skills as she carries a flower basket and dons a white turtleneck, a black skirt and a matching shawl. Watch the clip below.

According to an article published by Classic FM, this throwback video of the future queen was recorded back in 1993, when she played Eliza Doolittle in a school production of My Fair Lady. FYI, the play was performed at St Andrew’s School in Pangbourne, Berkshire, a private school the royal princess attended as a young girl in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

We first saw the clip making its rounds on social media back in 2014 (AKA when it was first posted). And now, the video has once again popped up on our radar—and just in time for Prince George’s 11th birthday. Being that Princess Catherine is the same age as her eldest son now in the resurfaced video, we wouldn’t be surprised if the future monarch follows in his mom’s footsteps when it comes to pursuing his musical talents. After all, the young prince did take ballet at the age of six, per Entertainment Tonight.

This is not the first we've seen Princess Catherine’s musical skills on full display. During the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest finale, the Princess of Wales treated viewers with a video of herself playing the piano. In the clip (shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Instagram page), we see Princess Catherine playing Kalush’s “Stefania” song on the piano.

Like mother, like son.
