Kate Middleton is officially back in the royal fold after completing chemotherapy treatment. From undergoing major hair changes to leaning on other royals for support, the Princess of Wales, 42, is slowly finding her footing as she eases back into her normal routine. I wouldn’t blame Princess Catherine for taking it easy during the holidays, especially since she just hosted her annual holiday concert. But according to this brand-new information, the royal isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
The Royal Family Is Already Grooming Kate Middleton to Become Queen
It's happening sooner than expected
People recently published never-before-heard details about Princess Catherine’s holiday concert, titled “Together at Christmas,” including how it differed from previous ceremonies.
Sources confirmed that there was a sense of readiness among the royal and her husband, Prince William. Although the Princess of Wales had an unexpectedly difficult year, the royal family is already grooming her to become queen when King Charles abdicates the throne.
This preparation might seem premature, but royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith noted that King Charles’s cancer diagnosis was a huge wakeup call.
“Although the King is carrying out his duties with typical determination, he has had to accept limitations during his cancer treatment,” she told the mag. “As a result William has been taking on more responsibilities, and he and Kate have been preparing for their future roles sooner than they would have expected.”
Although it could take years for Prince William to take over the throne, the royal family is already making preparations. “It is something the institution is always mindful of,” a source added. “It is an institutional preparedness.”
All hail the future king and queen.
