Kate Middleton Channels Late Queen Elizabeth in a Gorgeous Magenta Look Today

Kate Middleton just paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth by wearing a monochrome outfit during her latest royal outing.

Today, the Princess of Wales stepped out for an official appearance with her husband, Prince William. The couple joined a ceremonial procession in honor of President Cyril Ramaphosa, who’s visiting from South Africa.

During the outing, Princess Catherine wore a stunning magenta outfit that seemingly paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth (who often wore monochrome ensembles). The coat dress was designed by Emilia Wickstead and featured long sleeves, a belted waist and a pleated skirt. The princess accessorized with a matching pillbox hat, a clutch and pumps by Gianvito Rossi.

The outing held a special meaning to the Prince and Princess of Wales because it marked the first state visit since King Charles III ascended the throne. As a result, Prince William and Princess Catherine played a large role in the day’s itinerary. Not only did they greet the president at his hotel, but they also traveled with him during the Horse Guards Parade and carriage procession before arriving at Buckingham Palace.

The royal family shared a slideshow of photos from the state visit (see above) and wrote, “The President of the Republic of South Africa has been formally welcomed to the UK by The King and The Queen Consort at Horse Guards Parade.”

The caption continued, “During the ceremonial welcome, a Royal Salute was fired by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery from Green Park, and another Royal Salute was fired by the Honourable Artillery Company at the Tower of London.”

Keep the Queen Elizabeth tributes coming, Princess Catherine.
