What a welcome sight for royal watchers: The return of the Princess of Wales to official royal proceedings—in this case, King Charles’s annual birthday parade, Trooping the Colour.

Not only was Kate on hand to join her kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, as they traveled along the processional in the Glass Coach, but she and Prince William posted a brand-new behind-the-scenes video showing the kick-off to the day’s events to their official Instagram account.

The caption with their post stated quite simply: “All set for The King’s birthday parade.” The montage of clips showed Kate, George, Charlotte and Louis at Buckingham Palace eagerly awaiting the arrival of their horse-drawn carriage. But it was also full of sweet interactions between a mother returning to royal duty for the first time following her cancer diagnosis and her children, likely thrilled to once again participate and with their mom by their side.

Kate gently tousling Charlotte’s hair ahead of the coach’s arrival, the kids (and Kate) beaming gleefully from the backseat of the carriage as they departed Buckingham Palace to officially join the parade—these are just a couple of the adorable moments featured within the clip. Equally darling: Louis’s awkward welcome wave as the horses trot up to the palace’s door to pick them up. In fact, the tone of the video feels reminiscent of the coronation behind-the-scenes look they shared just over a year ago.

More than anything, we’re just so thrilled to see them—and just like Charles, we hope that Kate continues to pace herself as she navigates her return to royal work.
