Buckingham Palace Reveals Kate Middleton's Next Public Engagement (& It’s Sooner Than You Think)

It's been two months since Kate Middleton announced the completion of her chemotherapy treatments, and she's already getting back into the swing of things. Just last month, she made a surprise appearance at Southport Community Center. Then, she met with a young cancer patient at Windsor Castle. And now, the 42-year-old princess is set to attend one of the most important royal events of the year.

According to Buckingham Palace, the Princess of Wales will make an appearance at the Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall this weekend. She will also attend The Cenotaph war memorial in London to honor fallen troops on Remembrance Sunday.

The princess will be joined by her husband, Prince William, as well as King Charles, Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh and Princess Anne. However, Queen Camilla's attendance has not been confirmed, as she is privately recovering from a chest infection.

It's worth noting that Middleton has attended every single Service of Remembrance since she tied the knot with Prince William in 2011—even during her pregnancies with Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6). In fact, when she attended last year's emotional ceremony, the Princess of Wales stood alongside Queen Camilla on a balcony and observed their husbands as they laid wreaths at the memorial. Both ladies donned black dresses and matching brimmed hats with red poppy pins to commemorate Remembrance Day.

Per the official royal website, the ceremony is typically attended by the royal family, political leaders, members of the Armed Forces and World War veterans. As for how the event is structured, the site reads, "As the bells of Big Ben toll eleven, and a single gun on Horse Guards Parade is fired, two minutes of complete silence is held in remembrance of all lost in war. Once a further round of gunfire signifies the end of the silence, the bugle call 'The Last Post' is played. His Majesty and others, including High Commissioners from the Commonwealth, lay wreaths of poppies at the foot of the Cenotaph."

The announcement of Middleton's next engagement comes about a month after she met with a young photographer who was diagnosed with cancer. As it turns out, she received a personal invitation to visit Windsor Castle after Prince William learned about her story.

The royal couple shared a snap of Middleton embracing the teen and wrote, "A pleasure to meet with Liz at Windsor today. A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength has inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us. W&C."

Glad to see the Princess of Wales is back (and tugging at heartstrings while she's at it).
