Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Are Royal Style Twins...Again

We’re seeing double…duchesses, that is!

For Kate Middleton’s recent outing with Prince William in Scotland, the mom of three re-wore an A-line Alexander McQueen tartan coatdress in blue and green plaid (similar here), and it instantly reminded us of one of Meghan Markle’s outfits from her first official trip to Scotland in February.

Middleton has worn this coat twice previously, once in 2012 to St. Andrews in Scotland and once in 2013 in Sandringham during Christmas services.

While Markle's coat was by Burberry, the two tartans are very similar and the same color scheme. Of course, this is the peak of sartorial diplomacy: wearing a Scottish pattern to visit the country.

This feels especially true in Kate's case, since McQueen was fascinated with Scottish history, and his father was a Scottish cab driver. (Yep, we highly recommend the documentary McQueen on Netflix, in case you were wondering...)

Middleton paired her coatdress with a Manu Atelier green suede micro top-handle bag, black tights, black suede pumps and black gloves.

Taking style cues from her sister-in-law? That doesn't sound like dueling duchesses to us...
