All eyes were on Kate Middleton this past weekend as she made a gleaming return following her cancer diagnosis to the world stage at Trooping the Colour, the king’s official birthday celebration held annually in June.

It’s true, this kind of news is so big it transcends your everyday royal watcher. After all, questions about Kate’s whereabouts swirled for months ahead of her making a formal video announcement about her health this past March. Still, when a carousel of photos featuring Kate with her family—including kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis—popped up on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Instagram feed following the rainy occasion, we were surprised to see a certain A-list celebrity weigh in.

Yep, Gwyneth Paltrow took a minute away from her busy schedule running the show at her lifestyle website, Goop, to comment on the Instagram post: “So happy to see you looking so happy and well,” Paltrow wrote, adding a red heart emoji. (Currently, the comment has close to 6,500 likes.)

This isn’t the first time news about Paltrow in relation to the royals has bubbled up. Last year, shortly after King Charles’s coronation, it was reported that the Goop founder and her husband, Brad Falchuk, dined with both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Santa Barbara. (They’re neighbors in Montecito, after all.)

TBH, we love the overlap—and the idea that Paltrow is keeping up with the British royals in the same way that we do. Kate’s first official appearance in 2024 was monumental, after all, and we were thrilled to see it. Clearly, Paltrow feels the same.
