It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s…Kate Middleton flying a drone?

Earlier this month, the Princess of Wales, 41, traveled to Norfolk to meet with the 1st the Queen’s Dragoon Guards. While there, the royal changed into combat gear and participated in a military training course, which involved operating a drone.

The royal family shared a video from the outing on X (formerly known as Twitter), featuring Princess Catherine hanging with the servicemen and women, driving an armored vehicle and even flying a drone. The royal can be seen holding a large controller as the device flies over her head.

Princess Catherine switched up her hair for the special occasion. Instead of her signature beachy waves, the royal rocked a much straighter style that she pulled back for the training course.

The appearance marked Princess Catherine’s first official outing as the Colonel-in-Chief of 1st the Queen’s Dragoon Guards. (She was given the title by King Charles back in August.) In addition to flying the drone, she also handed out Long Service and Good Conduct medals to several service members.

According to the official website, the QDG “is the Cavalry Regiment of Wales and the Border Counties.” They specialize in reconnaissance, which is “the art of seeking out the enemy and understanding how they operate.”

Way to go, Princess Catherine.
