It’s already been a high-profile September for Kate Middleton—earlier this month, the Princess of Wales announced that she has officially finished her chemotherapy treatment via a three-minute video that included not only her husband, Prince William, but her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. In addition to that, in a move that occurred behind-the-scenes, it was revealed that Kate also headed back to work, hosting a meeting for one of her most treasured causes, the Early Years, at Windsor Castle just last week.

Of course, the Princess of Wales has been clear—she’ll continue to take it slow. Still, over the weekend, she was spotted en route to a more routine royal occurrence: Joining other members of the royal family for church.

It was for the Sunday service at Crathie Kirk Church near Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Kate was pictured in the passenger seat of a car with William at the wheel. This sighting marks the first public appearance of Kate since her video announcement—and she was sporting a familiar look (a fedora hat with feathers and a brown tartan coat).

Also on hand for the service? King Charles and Queen Camilla, who are expected to remain in Scotland until early October and resting up ahead of their upcoming tour to Australia.

As for how frequently we’ll continue to see and hear from Kate in the coming months, that’s still TBD. She stated clearly in her video update that she is “doing what she can to stay cancer-free” and will return to work “in the coming months when I can.” (Ahead of the release of the video, the U.K. Times reported that Kate is aiming to participate in Remembrance Day this upcoming November as well as play an active role in her annual “Together at Christmas” concert.)

Time will tell. More than anything, we’re happy to see her—even in small doses as she’s able.
