Kate Middleton Shares Sneak Peek of Personal Letter (& I Noticed Something Interesting About Her Signature)

Ever since Kate Middleton confirmed that she will host the 2024 Christmas concert, the 42-year-old royal has been teasing details about the upcoming event (including “something exciting” and a possible surprise). 

This week, Princess Catherine shared another detail about “Together at Christmas,” which will take place on December 6 at Westminster Abbey. The royal posted a slideshow of photos on the Instagram account she shares with her husband, Prince William, featuring a personalized letter that will be given to each guest at the upcoming event.

The first photo showed a closeup of the royal’s signature on the bottom of the letter. It was followed by a picture at the top of the page, which featured “Dear guest” written in Princess Catherine’s handwriting.

I immediately noticed something interesting about her signature, which read “Catherine” in neat cursive. Instead of using a royal title (i.e., “Princess”), the duchess used only her first name. Perhaps she wanted the letter to feel personal and not too formal. Or maybe she was trying to seem more relatable to the public. 

The caption read, “A special letter, reflecting on the importance of love, empathy and how much we need one another in the most difficult times. This will be given to each of the guests at the Together at Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey and the fifteen Community Carol Services across the country, thanking those attending for all they do for others.”
