Kate Middleton Shares Never-Before-Seen Video of Her 3 Kids Baking Cakes for a Platinum Jubilee Street Party

Who knew there was a great British bake off taking place right in one of the royal family residences? This weekend, the royal family has been celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, and the festivities have included everything from massive parades to superstar-filled concerts. But according to the latest post on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Instagram account, the celebratory weekend also included a little homemade baking.

In a never-before-seen video, Kate Middleton was seen baking cakes with her three kids—Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4—to distribute for a Platinum Jubilee street party. The caption of the video read, “Baking cakes for the local community in Cardiff to enjoy at a Platinum Jubilee street party taking place today! We hope you like them!”

The video shows Middleton and her children working together in the kitchen, and based on the snaps that flash across the screen, it looks like the duchess's kids are already quite masterful bakers. In one shot, Princess Charlotte is seen cracking eggs and smiling up at the camera as she does it, and in another, she seems to be measuring out flour while her brother, Prince George, watches. Even 4-year-old Prince Louis appears to be doing his part, like in one snap where he is seen using a sifter.

The Belfast Telegraph reported back in June of 2020 that Prince William said his kids had taken up baking as a quarantine hobby. “The children have been attacking the kitchen and it’s just been an explosion of flour and chocolate everywhere,” the Duke of Cambridge joked.

And it seems the trio has stuck with their hobby, because we've seen them bake (with the assistance of their mom, of course) a few treats in the past, like when they produced cupcakes for war veterans and armed forces members in October 2020.
