It’s been less than a year since Kate Middleton began chemotherapy treatment for her cancer diagnosis. And now, the Princess of Wales, 43, is sharing a highly anticipated health update.
Today, Princess Catherine returned to The Royal Marsden, which is the same center where she received treatment. Following the visit, the royal shared a slideshow of photos on Instagram and released a statement confirming that she’s now in remission.
The Princess of Wales began by honoring The Royal Marsden for their unwavering support. “I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year,” she wrote. “My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional.”
Princess Catherine also shared her own health update and confirmed that she is, in fact, in remission. “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal,” she added. “I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
