For weeks, royal aficionados have been searching for answers about Kate Middleton’s whereabouts following her abdominal surgery back in January. And now, we finally have answers.
Today, Princess Catherine, 42, released a heartbreaking video confirming that she’s been diagnosed with cancer. The clip was posted on her official social media account, and it featured the Princess of Wales speaking directly to the camera.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,” Princess Catherine says in the clip. “The surgery was successful, however, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”
She continued, “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I'm now in the early stages of that treatment.”
Speculation about Princess Catherine’s health began earlier this year when the royal family announced that the royal underwent abdominal surgery.
“Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to hospital yesterday for planned abdominal surgery,” the statement read. “The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in the hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”
Two weeks later, Kensington Palace issued another statement confirming that the Princess of Wales had been released from the hospital. It read, “The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress.”
Since then, the palace has provided several updates about her recovery, but supporters were rightfully convinced that there was more to the story.
