It’s no secret that Kate Middleton has a drawer (or two) full of bras, just like us plebeians. But have you ever noticed how the Duchess of Cambridge, 38, never has visible straps during official appearances? Well, that’s because she doesn’t wear any.

Introducing strapless bodysuits. According to Myka Meier (royals expert and author of Modern Etiquette Made Easy), Middleton wears the special undergarment to avoid unwanted straps in public.

Meier shared an Instagram slideshow featuring pics of Middleton at the 2019 Royal Ascot, along with a screenshot of a strapless bodysuit. The caption read, “Royal Style Hack Alert! Ever wonder why you never see bra straps?! Swipe to see a secret trick which is a must-have royal wardrobe piece!”

Unfortunately, we don’t know the exact bodysuit brand Middleton is wearing in the photos (because that would be really weird). However, there are several noteworthy options available for purchase online, including Wacoal’s Strapless Shaping Bodybriefer ($125), Assets by Spanx Women’s Strapless Cupped Midthigh Bodysuit ($46) and Maidenform’s Strapless Convertible Underwire Slip ($68).

Sure, a bodysuit might not seem like a necessary purchase when we can count on one hand the amount of times we’ve gotten fully dressed this month. (Thanks a lot, social distancing.) But if we consider the number of rogue bra straps that have ruined priceless photos over the years, we have to say it’s worth a shot.
